I was thinking of doing something like this I just didn't know if it was the convention that most people used.

Maybe other idea for trade. Make a personnal guild and unlock the guild bank. Invite the other person on your guild, deposit gold in bank, he can now take the gold(need to guest on that server if not on your server) and that it.

dont mention trade/fg/d2jsp and make sure you chat for at least a little bit so that theres something in the logs and not just X sent Y 100g then both players logged off etc

Has anyone been banned for doing a Player to Player trade ie through the mail or some other medium?

Pls, I recently got sent 500G for a debt that was owed from gw1 (I know, lol), and I sent quite a substantial amount to a few people since.
Not been banned. Let's face it, if you're not an idiot you will be okay

As for the birthday thing, ante will start thinking wtf when you have had six birthdays in a month period.

well yeah, kinda meant for a once or twice only thing since anet is strict on the mail sometimes.
