i competed in a pizza-making contest last night. i came in second, beat out only by a guy who used to own a pizza store. he made one of the pies he used to sell. the other contestants had no connection to the food business, they just came for fun. (which is also why i went...) my pie was: sauce, fried eggplant, carmelized onions, black olives, feta, mozarella, muenster, cheddar, crushed red pepper, and a light sprinkle of lemon juice. was thinking afterward i shouldve added some fresh garlic. oops. next time.
