So I had preordered my Halo 4 copy off of Amazon which came with some bonus content. I haven't played since January... I come back to attempt to rekindle my interest in the game, I downloaded an update for the game, and now I'm presented with a message that is telling me I have unlicensed content on my xbox, and to either delete it or buy a mappack.

What the heck? I feel violated I can't play the game I paid for. I restarted the xbox and tried multiple times so its not a randomly occurring message.

Does anyone know what this is about and what I can do to resolve it that doesn't include spending money or giving up bonus content I already paid for?

this ^

After h4 was released they later released a map pack for sale and accidentaly let everyone download and use it FREE. Later they made you either delete it or pay for it to continue playing online. This sounds like it may be a bug or glitch and they think you have the free map pack. Just give them a call and explain. As long as you payed for any extra content then they should be able to resolve this

I'm a douchebag because you're too lazy to solve your own problem and not smart enough to use Microsoft support for its intended purpose?

You sure showed me!
