yeah, and i meant to add that i realize clay is where he is best but still the way he looked at the french was multiples better than today
his first loss ever in the first round of a major, crazy
Yeah, well on clay he's just
that good, unless he's in terrible form he's the top candidate to win RG. But even though he won it, this year he lost a load of sets on his way to the final, which he never does, so it was clear he was far from his best form. But yes, even if he wasn't recovered he did look much better than today and in any case you'd expect the winner of RG to do better in London. I personally expected him to get halfway through the tournament... going out on the first round is a shocker.

guess he couldn't defend those 2nd round ranking points
sad thing is even missing 1 major and getting dumped rd1 at another he could still be the year end #1, especially if he can stay consistent and win 1 or 2 hc titles + djokovic not being 2011 djokovic
That's why imho these rankings should be based off a 2 year performance instead of a 1 year record. It would be unfair if Nadal became number one after having missed out half the season, just like it was unfair when he lost it the first time because he was injured for 3 months. A 2 year ranking would be more accurate, and it would allow the players to take it easier.
