Holodomer was an intentional starvation. There was enough food for people, and the military took it all so they starved deliberately. Pretty causal. Which is why the Ukrainians were so pissed when their last president tried to personally sell the country back to the Russians through a trade agreement that revived Warsaw Pact language.
