When I do my mocks, I open up a word document with this list on it next to my mock. As I go through my mock, I’ll remove positions for teams as they draft and fill the need. This allows me to breeze on through my mocks and see what each team still needs. I don’t draft for need though, I draft for value while keeping need in mind, but value comes first. So, this is just what I think each team needs to address in the draft, position wise, in order. Felt like this may spark some decent conversation maybe.
This is the most up to date list too, taking all FA signings and trades into account. If you see something like “S, xx, xx, S, xx” that simply means a team needs multiple safeties and it doesn’t matter which specific safety were to come first, just the better talent, then other positions, then fill the other safety spot if possible later on. LB (instead of ILB or OLB) means the same thing, just needs to fill out the LB corps but this one is usually more when only depth is needed rather than starters.
Lastly, don’t be insulted if I say a team like the Eagles needs a WR, look where it is in the list and how low of a priority it is. When it’s a case like that, it’s usually just a situation like, if a good value falls into the later rounds, it would make for a nice pick up to most likely simply add depth while maintaining a value element to the pick.
