Also I read there are risks of getting reset if buying coins from a third party, is that likely?

you can get banned, yes ive sold more than 3.5M and my acc.is.ok

i mean packs are fun, but its not the best way of going about getting coins. If you have the funds get the bundle and you can use the fifa points to open packs during promos/weeks with really good cards in packs. Every week there is a team of the week (TOTW) with 23 special cards boosted stats based off irl performances. So some weeks will have superb players in it others not so much. Chances of pulling good ones that sell for a lot of coins or players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi etc are very low. There are other promos throughout the year when special cards are in packs.
