he left a comment about that
i dont recall it 100% but it was soemthing like that the maps of these areas wouldnt make much sense, so he left them out
Exactly, the maps didn't make much sense. That and in the game it was useless filler with the same tileset, so we decided that another catacombs would be boring to the people who would be doing the quests/map.
We also left out city of the damned because it was exactly the same as plains of despair and offered nothing new in terms of decorations or structures.
Some levels in dungeons were cut, only two levels in maggot lair for example, two levels in catacombs, etc.
Anyway, I have pictures of the progress in the past week or so.
Aside from that our server software 'bukkit' was pretty much terminated due to legal issues with mojang and work ethics.
Why that correlates with our work is that without people working on the new patch we don't have access to the latest minecraft version for our d2 project.
In other words, we're stuck in v1.6 while mc is now at 1.8.xx and we need the new block additions and commands.
Running the vanilla server won't help since we need the tools, warps, plugins, noclip, etc..
Hoping bukkit will be replaced by a new, open source project.. Just like hmod was replaced by bukkit a while back.
To some of you all of this means absolutely nothing but I think some of the more avid mc players will understand.
If someone has a custom server platform similar to bukkit that supports it's plugins, let me know
