Highest magic efficiency = MP3
Average = MP3
Highest bonus item efficency = MP4
But how did u arrive at that ? What was the method behind this ?
Calculation based on monster HP gain (provided by the chart on Battle.net) per MP level as well as the MF and Bonus Item % given on the chart.
The way I see it, even though a high damage player may be able to do high MP levels at a reasonably quick rate, based on sheer numbers you have a higher probability of items per time spent by farming lower MP.
Of course lots of people will argue that "efficiency is based on your damage," but it's clearly not. Your damage doesn't change the MF of the MP level, nor does it change the monster's spawned HP.
The only time this would really change is when you're doing more damage in a single hit, EVERY hit, than monsters have (including elites/champions). At that point max HP wouldn't matter until the first MP at which you don't 1-shot them, which would become your new most efficient.
I'm not going to debate this back and forth, though, because I know somebody is going to come in here with some long mathematical post about how wrong I am, but it's pretty plain and simple.
If you disagree, that's fine. It's just a simple chart I provided. Like I said to begin with, "Nothing crazy, just a little something interesting."

there is a cap on gear.
so......to be past a certain mf......you need tp up the mp.
This is based on the MF given by the MP. Your comment doesn't really have anything to do with this chart.
