Just got my 3 year old son a micro pole. Worked on casting for a few minutes before he handed it back to me. He LOVES the reeling part and picked it up quite well. Gonna work with him more this week so by weekends time he'll be in fishing mode for the derby.

Was a slow day for fishing for me. Went again after dinner and somehow managed to snag a cat.

also if you are catching and releasing larger sized bass it is bad to hold them like that, it can break their jaw/bad for their internal organs.

How long was it? Would have to be at least 20" to go 7+ lbs and that does not look 20"

Was easily 20 inches. From my head half way down my ribs

The angle I'm holding the fish and taking the pic probably distorted it. But that's a big ass bass. Well over 5 lbs.

Just got the gf's reel and mine loaded with new line for salmon season. Now to find two poles and two trout reels, blew both my salmon poles up last year so I'm using my reels on my trout poles.

So far this year I've redone all my poles: halibut (new line and oiled), ocean pole (new line and oiled), micro pole (new line and oiled), BRAND NEW fly rod (to me, brother in law gave me it), and the two salmonreels loaded with line and oiled.
