I rather not receive a auto-pm for this.

But it does sound like a good idea being able to invite people into the guild by sending a invite.

Voted yes for invite.
Voted no for auto-pm.

I agree with this

So maybe the guild-less person gets Auto-PM'd by every guild that would like him to join.
I can see someone's PM box getting flooded,
and irritation from the user having to clear out unwanted invitations.

Who would have the authority to issue the invitation?
Should be guild owner only or a designated recruiter only,
otherwise there could be multiple invitations from the same guild,
resulting in more user irritation.

User should have option of blocking invitations, especially if he has no desire to join a guild.

I still think that selecting a guild should be a user choice.

I get daily "donate me" messages just because i have large amount of Fgs.
You are right, this is no fun... but in that case if a person is not interested in a guild it can be easily fixed with an Enable/Disable function.
Multiple invitations issue, it could be done in a way that if a person doesn't approve the invitation that same guild wont be able to invite him for the next 2 months unless he requests by himself.
Ofcourse there are some things you should make that the users wont be spammed, but you get the idea ;)

Voted no, because if a guild is invite only, they would be select on members and inviting a member with a manual PM is more appealing to the person you're recruiting than an automated one.
The idea is not so bad, but it adds more problems than it helps.

Ofcourse you have a selected text on the "auto message" and it will look just perfect, i trust paul on doing a good job with it..
the point is that they will be able to approve or not the request.

Voted No, i'd hate to have endless pm's for invites...unless there was an option to block this feature..but a simple pm to this user would work just as well.

You would still have to PM the person upon acceptance or declination, if you invite them using the button, they're not going to have questions for you? If they decline wouldn't you want to know why?
Having this feature would take personal confrontation out of the whole process of joining a guild. All this is doing is skipping the part where you have to manually type out a PM, and adding problems like flooding, abuse, more features which requires enabling/disabling.

Only plus I see to this is mass inviting people.
