the problem with phone cameras is that they don't have much room to put neither a large sensor nor a decent lens in them and both of them are required to produce high quality images. Currently only the Nokia 808 has an amazingly large sensor much larger than most compact cameras but from what I have read the reason for that is because to give it the ability to crop images ie digital zoom which is also why the extremely high resolution of 40 mega pixel. I hope one day they will integrate phones into cameras rather than the other way around. The new Canon EOS M camera with it's high res touch screen would be a perfect candidate for such a smart phone

ohhh! yeah some of the cameras they're putting on phones are getting really nice
i have a nikon d3000 myself! c: and a canon powershot g12! soon i'm going to be getting a pentax kr from a friend i'm buying off of, so i'm getting a nice little collection going.
