The books are way better imo, only the last 3 movies do justice to the novel... David Yates should have directed the movies from the start imo, they improved a ton when he took over.

As for a favourite character, idk, don't really have one... maybe Minerva McGonagall, I like how she's a mix of coolness, strictness, warm heartedness, wiseness, etc.

The later movies are better IMO from 3 on. But you can't beat the nostalgic feeling of watching Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone for the very first time as a young teen. Favorite character has to be Snape, Alan Rickman is phenomenal.
