yeah has to have a 1155 socket with the chipset of either z68 or z77. personally id get an msi motherboard. other good brands are asrock, gigabyte and asus.

im pretty sure you could buy all the parts i listed in the first page at canadacomputers. they have a large selection, just bad prices. you should use their pricematch system

You pretty much don't need to be buying the 2011 Socket, socket 1155 is what you want, unless you have an unlimited budget.

Okay fair enough would you have any suggestions for the psu? Odds are I will be picking everything up from http://www.canadacomputers.com/ at the in store location by me.
If I went with a i5 I would have to grab a different motherboard aswell right?

i wouldn't get anything in-store honestly unless you don't mind paying provincial taxes and canada taxes at the same time.

I dont really think ill be overclocking to be honest I know very little about it and dont want to screw things up. Im almost thinking I may be able to just upgrade my current pc though its a store bought if that matters.

the i5 3570k would be perfect for you then. yeah those tend to be difficult to upgrade.
