2x-(x/3)=-4

2x + 5 = -3 + 4 + (1/3)x
2x + 5 = 1 + (1/3)x
Move x to other side by subtracting 1/3
(5/3)x = -4
Multiply by 3/5 to get x alone
x = -12/5

-12x + 2x = -6 + 30
