2x+5=-3+4+(x/3)
2x-(x/3)=1-5
2x-(x/3)=-4
6x-x=-12
5x=-12
x=-12/5

Distribute 1/2 and -1/3
2x + 5 = -3 + 4 + (1/3)x

2x + 5 = 1 + (1/3)x

Move x to other side by subtracting 1/3
(5/3)x = -4

Multiply by 3/5 to get x alone

x = -12/5

1/2(4x+10) = -1/3(9-12-x)

-3(4x+10) = 2(9-12-x)

-12x-30 = 18 - 24 - 2x

-12x + 2x = -6 + 30

-10x = 24

x = -24/10 -12/5
