S3 > Apple
Even the S2 is a huge contender.

The battery life of the S3 is actually pretty good, and that 4.8 HD screen is sexy as hell for watching movies on or streaming HD video or playing games, etc. I've tried both, and the 3.5 screen that iPhone has is just too... small.
Holding one in each hand, clearly the S3 is larger, but with the larger size you get a lot more of a phone. It fits in my hands nice, and fits in my pockets just fine too, so I love it.
Even web browsing is easier with a larger screen I think, but it is all a matter of opinion.
