Hello everyone guys, this is my first guide and it's meant to gather all the infos i've read and collected so far in game experience and in this forum.

Goals:
Most of the things written here will not be new to most of the readers but since "most" doesnt mean "100%" i will write them anyway.
Like in every build we must satisfy various needs:
The ability to kill,
The ability to survive,
The ability to be viable with both low and high $$$ budget,
The ability to do this 3 things above as better as possible together.
This build wants to be the "classic way to go" when you are going to setup your DH.
It is effective,
It is easy,
It is strong,
It is fast,
It is versatile.

Skill Section:

Mouse left click:
Option 1: Entangling shot + Justice is Served
Amazing hatred filler, also provides slow effect, defenetly a good skill to let us spam our Elemental Arrow as much as possible
Option 2: Hungering Arrow + Devouring Arrow
This is the classic option to have i guess... big single DPS source

Mouse right click:
Option 1: Elemental Arrow + Nether Tentacles
Even after 1.0.3 patch this is the best Single Target/White trash cleaner skill.
Option 2: Elemental Arrow + Ball Lightning
Deals less dmg than NT but has bigger AoE and hits 2 times so it's good if you rely a lot on "on hit effects" like LoH, nightstalker, etc.

Skill 1:
Option 1: Caltrops + Torturous Ground
A must have skill to stop monsters, escape dungerous situations, kite.
Option 2: Shadow Power + Gloom
If you are able to survive 1-2 hits "naturally" you can pick this skill, stand your ground instead of kiting and slay them all, it gives 65% DR + 20% LL. (must be combo'ed with Nightstalker passive)

Skill 2:
Option 1: Smoke Screen + Lingering Fog
This is your main "oh shit!#@!" button.

Skill 3:
Option 1: Preparation + Backup Plans
Used to get back all your discipline and keep ur "oh shit!#@!" buttons ready to use.

Skill 4:
Option 1: Companion + Bat
Hatred Regen "fire and forget".
Option 2: Marked for Death + Mortal Enemy
Another Hatred regen + Dmg Increase, for boss fights.

Passives:
Archery ---> Damage boost!
Steady Aim ---> Damage boost!
SharpShooter ---> Damage boost!
Nightstalker ---> If you have high enough Critical Hit Chance replace Sharpshooter with this, Discipline filler!

Items Attributes Section:
Of course a good build is not enough to survive through Inferno post-Act2, Diablo 3 is a very gear dependant game and our DH is not an exception to this law.
This build can be used with a "glass cannon equip" and/or with a "balanced dmg/survivability equip".
There are many stats to look for when we are going to buy an item and some are more important than others, here we go:

#1: Dexterity: Our main attribute, increases damage by 1% each point, along with dodge %
#2: Critical Hit Chance: We are intended to be nukers, the more chance we have to score a critical hit the better we are going to do our work
#3: Critical Damage: Since we want most of our hits to be criticals this is a must have stat in all our items
#4: Increased Attack Speed: Even if heavly nerfed this is always an important stat to have, an attack speed above 1,7 APS is good, over 2 is better! But pay attention! It is better to get IAS from Armor parts and not from weapon since IAS on weapon means lower base damage compared to a weapon with same DPS but lower AS (because of simple math: DPS = Dmg * AS)

Below these very important item's attributes (this should be your main AH item filters) there are all the classic "most wanted adds" like:
#5: Sockets
#6: Vitality
#7: Hatred Regen/Maximum Discipline
#8: Faster Run/Walk
#9: All Resistances

Try to get the best you can of these attributes in every item's slot and also remember that:
Godly rares > Legendaries > Mid rares

Considerations Section:
This build gives its best with a 2h Bow + Quiver because it's the best compromise between continuos damage and critical spikes damage and can be used with a low budget (1M or below).
Of course there are some "breakpoints" to reach in order to progress in the game but that is for all classes!
Since we are damage dealers i'll write down the requirements about it only, for now (w/o Sharpshooter):

Act 1 Inferno,
Minimum Damage: 20k
Reccomended Damage: 30k

Act 2 Inferno,
Minimum Damage: 30k
Reccomended Damage: 45k

Act 3 Inferno,
Minimum Damage: 50k
Reccomended Damage: 65k

Act 4 Inferno,
Minimum Damage: 70k
Reccomended Damage: The higher the better!

Hope you enjoy my work, waiting for comments and constructive critics to implement this guide such as "Good legendaries to have" and "other minimum stats requirements to face Inferno's difficulty"!

I would suggest one of the following to help keep up some decent discipline:

1). Get discipline on your arrows + chest + 1-handed crossbow if your using them

2). Get 35%+ crit chance and use the night stalker passive

3). Get 4x piece nats set

Nice Overview guide

Kinda knew everything from mostly playing, but very informative to give the newbies a clue on wtf to do.

Pretty good for a starting point.

How viable exactely is allres / vitality / armor on DH?
Coming from my Wiz, able to survive basically everything with roughly 1k resistances and 35k hp, my DH seems... squishy. She just does too fast for my taste, especially now that I'm used to facetank a2 monsters on my wiz and not beeing bothered much by pretty much anything.
Is it possible / "a good idea" to try and reach the same point as DH?

sure if u have 100mil+

AR + main stat + vitality = expensive.

whereas wiz = gives u extra 200 resists free? if u have 2k int?

That's pretty good for a glass cannon set up. Is that what you're going for?
