Thought I would give examples:

Barb
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Retribution (6 points 66%)... increase either

Fighter
Powerstrike (6 points = 66%) / Retribution (6 points 51%)... increase either

Rogue
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Retribution (6 points 51%)... increase either

Mage (uncommon but doable)
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Retribution (6 points 51%)... increase either

Guardian (normally a healer/tanker... more on this later)
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Retribution (6 points 51%)... increase either

Samurai
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / TwoHitBack (6 points 66%)... increase either

Paladin (Healing is one of it's best features)
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Healback (6 points 66%)... increase either

Monk
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Doublestrike (6 points 66%)... increase either

Ninja
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Doublestrike (6 points 51%)... increase either

Warlock (uncommon, but, doable)
Powerstrike (6 points = 51%) / Doublestrike (6 points 51%)... increase either

I use the KISS principle

Multi-strike and Healback on all my melee char's

Secondary melee ability depends on char class. Pally gets revenge, for example, Monk gets cross-strike, Ninja gets jump attack

And Melee Lock does work. One of the best hit-and-heal char's IMO

Notice - none use powerstrike. Why use such an over-powered ability on one mob when a decently charged multi-target ability can kill more than one??

Once I am in the lvl 50 range, my abilities are usually at 40%, give or take a few % points.

Headhunter
1. 6 pts into double strike
2. 6 points into power strike
3. the rest into slapdash

You are right about multi vs powerstrike rick but thats advantage for cata in solo double strike and two hit back work better imo with done salvation instead of gafl back

Thank you all for some good replies... wanting more

@ Rick... that does work for groups of 3 - 5 people, I have that covered,
also, here is what happens when used on Feeders and Samurai using those abilities:

Barb
Multistrike (9 points = 43%) / Healback (3 points 17%)... rest into healback (Total 60%)

Fighter
Multistrike (9 points = 43%) / Healback (3 points 17%)... rest into healback (Total 60%)

Rogue
Multistrike (9 points = 43%) / Healback (3 points 17%)... rest into healback (Total 60%)

Mage (uncommon but doable)
Multistrike (9 points = 43%) / Healback (3 points 17%)... rest into healback (Total 60%)

Guardian (normally a healer/tanker... more on this later)
Multistrike (9 points = 43%) / Healback (3 points 17%)... rest into healback (Total 60%)

Samurai
Multistrike (4 points = 58%) / Healback (8 points 39%)... up either (Total 97%)

Paladin
Multistrike (9 points = 59%) / Healback (3 points 48%)... up either (Total 107%)

multistrike on a feeder is a waste.. DONt use multistrike before sammy.. at sammy or higher classes you can always struggle about using or not..(a very good ability for sammy ofc) but at lower classes it is a bad skill because of the low chances.. same with healback.. pally+ it is an amazing skill.. but not a good idea to use it on lower classes..
rather use the class related abilities.. (try to stick with the ones that charge with attacking.. ) i would use for example for a fighter: power strike (up to 58%), bottoms up (up to 58%) and then either knockdown from barb or backstab from rogue.. (in groups)
if you want to go more solo then salvation is a good option if you got decent heals
