I fell you there, I made sure everytime the surveys came up to rate what I truly felt after the events, as well as give well thought out (imo) feedback on the event and the "world changing aspect" of it. I remember them advertising a ton about how everything you do effects the world around you. But all weekend long not but one time was I able to truly feel like the world had changed for the better. I think this could be fixed or obtained rather with around 3-4 hour lapses before events reoccur. Rather than 15-20 minutes. This however would require a TON of work as you would have to have events happening from point (A) to point (B). You couldn't just leave that area blank for 4 hours.

I do find the randomly occuring events quite enjoyable though. I was messing around and I found this woman sitting near a lake, I talked to her, and all the sudden she charges off saying to follow her. I'm in pursuit and we wind up in a cave. Nothing special here just a gathering quest. (Event 1)
About 2 minutes into gathering all by my lonesome a huge troll boss storms into the cave and starts pummeling my face in. (Event 2)
I die (event 3

)
I assume all is lost and run back thinking maybe I can just finish the gathering part around him, and the cave is home to the troll for now.
On my way back I see a mountain of players pour into the cave and together we manage to down the troll.
It was the one time I got the semi-accomplished feeling. Together the group of random misfits were able to down the troll burdening the old woman and the cave was ours again.
However I think the 15-25 zone (for humans?) I found that zone entirely too dry. A total of maybe 8 different events seem to occur between 15 and 20. And they occur as soon as they end. There was nothing but repetition and sighs for this place.
I haven't really been able to capture that feeling of "this boss/raid/whatever needs to die or else". At worst if we fail to capture back a little hub we get to retry in 5 minutes.
I captured some troll camp yesterday. Thats cool and all we actually took the place over. Less than 45 seconds later trolls are trying to take it back. We stop them. 4 minutes later trolls are trying to take it back. So on and so forth until they actually do.
Are trolls from the 1700s? Just lining up everyone they have and tossing them at us until they win with sheer numbers? Idk I just didn't buy it at all.
I didn't do too much pvp really, except for about 30 minutes of WvWvW which seemed to consist of my team standing at the bridge aoeing for what probably lasted 6 hours straight at the oncoming team on their spawn point. It was very very bland. I'm sure it has to do with the unbalanced part of realm vs realm, but it felt like there was ZERO objective, simply hey lets kill these guys because we can kill these guys.
