"MF" is stated as "The more you have, higher are the chances that you will find a 'magic' item".
By 'magic' they mean every non common (white or grey) itens.
Once you drop the item, the properties are randomized, based on a list of possible affixes for your item level (iLevel).
iLevel will be avaible for us to check in the next patch (at least,thats what blizzard said).
The higher your iLevel is, the better the affixes may be aswell.
