only forgive when offended.

I'm just going to throw this out there to give folks some insight ; try to make the distinction between salvation and Heavenly reward !

Great to think about :)

May i ask why it is so important for us to 'believe'? You could compare that to a narcissistic teenager seeking attention. I am not here to argue, i am trying to be an open minded person so please give me some insight onto why you would deem any of this necessary.
The only time i respect religion is when it is personal, regardless of the obvious and overwhelming answers to this world that completely demolish simple answers that religion teachers, in my experience, people are able to look past that because religion gives them a personal feeling to cope with situations.
I can't imagine why you would want to be labled as a follower, it is now frowned upon by intellects, reason being,it is easier to distribute information than ever before.

When ever i have personally spoken to a black armed follower of any motive, they take nothing into account - they merely follow it because they follow it or because they think it's right to do so. Brings me back to the personal things, you should not have to express your spirituality. I once was forced to read 'a' bible, a message relating to this topic was not to turn religion into anything it has become today - a label.

Now it's real late at night so i hope that makes sense. Ignore my opinion and take it as a question to answer.

You say religion I say a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What you don't understand are the actual, very real experiences saved Christians have been a part of. You look at it (and will until you experience it) as we just believe to believe, although that is partially true, we believe because we have, for the most part, personally experienced God.

I don't care about what is frowned upon, I will never deny my relationship with Christ. The more I am frowned upon and persecuted, the more I know I am living for Christ. The Bible is clear that when we follow Christ persecution will come.

Matthew 5:10
New Living Translation (NLT)
10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

As well as another verse (maybe more) I can't think of right now.

Everything can be labeled. And that's how people like it, regardless of what/how we live, it will be labeled as something.

I could never understand a personal relationship with any form of something that is not physical ,without experiencing such events personally, I'm sure you can understand that. You have answered that question with great integrity and decency of your own expressions, respect for you. I still deny learnings and statements, such as yours from any edition of the bible. 40 odd writers, overtime (so i am told) interpret things different - it's just human nature. I can only assume that this is an excuse to why most religious people, if not everyone, these day ' cherry-pick ' from the great book, not saying that is entirely bad (although contradiction should be subjected as ignorance) that directly relates to my point about religion being a personal motive, not something to be thrown around and conjured onto others.

trying to have reasonable conversation with a lost cause seems foolish too

I do not know your history with this individual, so i will not question this. Unless directly asked i would not invoke my beliefs onto anyone ( unless they are moral or blatant reasons ), a person like this would find any of my input offensive. That is why i will continue to question and continue to learn, respectfully to the best of my ability.

John 5:19 King James Version (KJV) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

To believe is to agree, to have faith in is to trust.

Philippians 1:21 King James Version (KJV) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. <-- Paul

1 Corinthians 11:1 King James Version (KJV) Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. <-- Paul

John 10:27 King James Version (KJV) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Religion is nothing but a drowning dunghill if it is not rooted in a relationship with Him.
