I put 10w30 instead of 5w30 and it seems to be running better IMO.

common practice in higher mileage engines. tolerances are down and you need a thicker weight oil to hold it together.

when was the last time you watched speed channel?

and you bet your ass people can tell when an engine is running differently due to a different weight oil.

put 5w30 in a diesel and see how it runs.

We weren't talking about different weight oil you said running the same weight oil but switching to Royal purple you could "Feel it run like shit"

Im calling bullshit unless you put the wrong weight oil in or you put too much, etc.

Funny thing is I could care less about royal purple I just find it funny when people make stupid claims. If it made such a big difference that you could feel it "running rough"
there would prolly be metal shavings in the oil pan lol

this is like telling the kid that thinks that because BBK tells him their intake makes 15whp it does, that he shouldn't trust manufacturer product promotion.

running rough because the oil isn't a thick enough weight doesn't mean you have metal on metal. it can run rough because the seal between the piston rings and the cylinder walls isn't tight enough, causing more blow by, etc. the seal is still there, the oil is still there, but its just thin enough to cause mild issues.

the engine ran louder and had more violent vibrations. it ran like shit. all with an RP oil change.

You are the one acting like a kid. You are the one that bought into the "hp claims" etc. royal purple makes put it in your car. Now idk if you are trying to sound cool by being against it (as is alot of this forum) or you are just acting retarded.

Heres a good unbiased read IMO. Has test results from comps, etc.

lol you are prolly one of the guys that hears an LS1 in person for the first & is going damn dude do you have an exhaust leak you have a loud ticking noise. NO thats how its supposed to sound.

You make your conclusion the oil is shit because your car "sounded louder"

-_-

Here's a link. yes its opinions, but these opinions are based on UOA's

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=127107

BITOG is the place to go to find out about oils. everything is based on UOAs. general consensus is:

RP Street oil degenerates faster

RP race oil is good.

how many of us are going to use race oil in our daily drivers....?
