Which is silly, because guns make people who kill people much, much more efficient.

I get your point, but I'm sticking by my guns that without an inherent desire to kill people, guns wouldn't be dangerous. Well okay, a few mishaps - guns are a bad example

What? At which point in constructing this argument did you decide it was logical? Your Christian extremists actually exist with an alarming population. 40% of Americans in this country believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old. There are approximately 120,000,000 people in the united states who are evangelical extremists, that's hardly a fringe movement. It's fallacious to assert being afraid of that woman and her potential 120,000,000 man army is like thinking 40% of Americans are Olympic class swimmers.

None of the Christians I know are that fanatic, and I know a lot of Catholics. Don't assume that because we believe in God that we also don't observe and believe science. You ask the average Christian if they believe in science and they'll tell you they do. I'm not sure where you got the 120 million from, but I can assure most Christians are not that extreme.

Well in your hypothetical the nuke wouldn't exist in the first place...

As for science being dangerous: science in itself poses no threat to anyone. It was the military, through science, which developed the nuke. Science was the tool. So I guess what I'm saying is guns don't kill people; people kill people.

Yes. @bold. In another hypothetical situation humans could leave the planet. There is more than one reason for a planet being unpopulated besides "there never was a population"

I don't know if your anecdotal evidence lends credence to your claim

Weapons aren't inherently dangerous, but you can't honestly say you see nothing wrong with each individual on the planet having a button that immediately implodes the planet killing all life on it.

The idea that 120M people in America are as fanatical as the people in Jesus Camp is fucking laughably stupid.

No, no, no. You see, the button doesn't kill people, it's the person with the button who kills people. For fuck's sake, everything isn't inherently dangerous. I could bash your head in with a fucking rock and end up saying "rocks don't kill people, people kill people.' Sure, that might be true, but to quote Ainede, it sure as hell makes it easier.
