eekzie, I generally like what you have to say, but you are outmatched here...

The game isn't using multithreading.  Period.  In fact, it's using the same engine as guildwars 1, just with enhanced graphics and physics, among other things, but that's it.  No multithreading, no company in their right mind would intentionally rule out customers based on hardware haha.
i7 is also not needed.  You only need to upgrade the cpu if it's a bottleneck to the gpu, which the i5 most definitely is NOT.
Also of note, the orignal engine was written with directx 9, which is what the majority of this game uses.  It includes directx 10, but doesn't require it.
16 gigs of ram...eeeeh not needed.  Even with 3 monitors it's enough.  Shit, my gfx card (ATI 7850) can support 6 monitors itself.
SSD does nothing for gaming.  At all.

To say he needs a $500 card to run ultra is also just silly.  My card was $250, and it's overkill.  I can run unigine heaven at 52fps stable oc'ed

THANK YOUUUU.

he mind fucked me with that when he said it, was like..

I don't think so. You are maybe a comp engineer but you bullshit this.
Even if you OC it.. you will not reach 52 FPS ( equal to 7950 3GB)... maybe you run it at low.

Probably just didn't use 4xAA

Never said it did. But it's already been evident you can't read.

Glad someone in here isn't retarded when it comes to hardware. Eekzie is having price tag loyalty, he got duped into buying a 500 dollar processor and now has convinced himself it was required...

I'm using an i5 3570k on my own PC.

I don't want to run things on max ;)

I also highly advice a lot of you people to read properly. It seems there's a huge misconception on what I actually said. Reading might help you there.

Nvidia GTX 680

And get 4x4GB RAM

And some proper SSD's. You'll like them.

I advised him the SSD's. I didn't say you needed them, or that they improved your graphics.
I only recommended them over HDD's.
And my experience with running demanding games on 3 screens on high settings is that you do notice the difference between 4x4 and 2x4.
Seeing as they are cheap, there is no reason not to get them either.

The topic was about gw2 graphics/fps

why would you mention ssd when it would be totally irrelevant.

trying to cover up your fail with another fail.

Why wouldn't you. It's a waste to not get an SSD. Especially if you mention quality.
