w/e have fun buying tons of ram, hell get 32 gigs, it'll prolly help with performance according to you when current technology on an OS can only support 8 gigs.

Yes, to run GW2 on ultra settings on 3 screens you will need that 16gb.
And the technology supports 16gb just fine. You might want to recheck your sources.
Only thing I didn't check is his motherboard. But that needs to be adjusted to the other specs I gave him anyhow.

And you clearly don't know the definition of max.

c. The time or period during which the highest point or degree is attained.

That means the highest amount of screens that is supported as well. Which is 3 (at this moment).

he asked if he can run the highest settings in the game on ONE monitor, which he can.

he didn't ask what the fucking best spec you can get for a pc.

i probably chose the wrong word to describe what i meant.. i meant highest/ultra settings for the game with just 1 screen don't know what different settings u can chose from in GW2. my bad

You might want to reread. Again. He never asked for a one-monitor setup. He asked if he could run it on maximum settings.

And if you kept reading (I know, that's not your strongest point), you could also see that I explained to him what 'maximum' is. And that he didn't mean that.
After that I explained how he would run the game, and what upgrades were needed to get settings to 'ultra'. Which, did not include the 16G Ram, nor the i7.

I only adviced him the GTX680 instead of his current card, which is an extremely nice video card. Especially for gaming.
And I told him SSD is nice, also with the way GW2 loads it will create more synergy. I didn't tell him it would improve his gaming performance.
If you want ''max'' settings, it'd only be logical to want faster loading times.

When people ask a question like this some things can be assumed, that is stuff like it will be on one monitor unless he mentions something else. He didnt mention that the computer will be performing at normal indoor temperature (around 20°) either and that the gravity in the room is 9,82 m/s², but i think we can safely assume those things aswell.
