I'll play devil's advocate here....

What about the fact that pornography is only just documented prostitution?

It's as if saying that breaking into somebody's home is wrong, but if you video tape it and charge others to watch it then it becomes legal.

How is that reconciled?

Consent separates those two examples by a good mile. :(

I think altogether hookers and pimps probably make more than prostitutes that do it on video.

If we're going on aggregate.

How so? The prostitute in a pornographic movie and the prostitute on the street corner are both consenting.

Oh you meant the burglarizing lol. I'm having a terrible day. Think I bombed a stats test earlier.

Doesn't address that the prostitute in the movie is still committing a crime and it is literally legal because of the presence of a video camera.

We're talking about the industry in general, in terms of legal revenue. The answer is obvious.

I agree with you, it's stupid. But it's the exact same reason as to why marijuana is a schedule 1 drug and tobacco is perfectly legal. Money money money.

Yeah I meant the robbery. Sorry to hear that. :(

I would argue that porn is safer than prostitution for everyone. The actors/actresses and the viewer.

By your logic deciding the legality of any item or activity would have to conform to either a total ban (creating black markets) or no regulation at all.

How is this a useful methodology?

...there was a regulated porn industry before the internet that prohibited sales to minors . If you want porn go buy it from an adult movie store .

.

Minors can obtain tobacco and alcohol from regulated industries.

Should we outlaw those?

We regulate those. It isn't done on an "honor system" like porn is.
