Fact: Awhile back there was a "BUG" where ppl noticed that if they wore Damage Return gear and let a mob do enough hits to kill itself that drops/whites were greatly increased.
Observation: Currently, a lot of ppl are stating that the slower they kill mobs that their drops are increasing (not sure if simply quantity or quality). Thread inspiration from
xaos4ever's topicAnalysis:What if Paul secretly planted a
"Socialistic Hidden Identifier Trigger" Modification (S.H.I.T. Mod for short) built into Ladder Slasher? This basically is a hidden Mod designed to help IDENTIFY the NEWCOMERS and give them a better shot at getting nice drops.
Consider this:- Newcomers have subpar gear which equates to more hits necessary to kill a mob on average
- Elite Slashers do sub 1hr MQs and mobs die in a blink = minimal amount of hits to kill mobs
- Clicks to kill mob would appear to be an obvious programming choice if one was to attempt to provide weighted drops for new/poor slashers
Basically, the Drop % or ML % goes up with every hit done on the mob and is intended to help out those LS newcomers or the "less fortunate" who may "Need" increased drops the most. I can't help but think this S.H.I.T. was inadvertently identified months ago and already abused for personal profit. Paul may have since dialed this S.H.I.T. back as it's not as so easily identifiable, but it may still exist.
The fact that there is evidence that a S.H.I.T. mod may exist to better spread the LS wealth of the "Haves" & "Have-Nots" could also make a swing in pricing for gear too for ppl who are looking to capitalize on this fact. Think about it, what gear would you want to use to SAFELY kill w/o issue a little slower on Solo or group? EE & HM. Expect a price spike in this gear if you are able to find any. Understanding price trends is how you truly make fg in this game.
