Grappling discussion only!!

Post your grappling related:
- stories
- experiences
- questions; not all will be answered, white belts shouldn't teach white belts.
- techniques
- interviews
- matches

This isn't limited to any particular discipline in grappling. Discussions on any disciplines.. wrestling, judo, bjj... are all highly encouraged!

**DISCLAIMER** There is no substitute for actual training. No amount of internet instruction/discussion is going to make you understand grappling or it's subtleties. Join a gym, school or a club!

This series done by Jason Scully is my favorite, there is just so much info packed into these videos that it's hard not to take something away from them each time you watch.

I got tapped out by a female 11 times in like a 10 minute rolling session, but it was my second day and she was a blue belt... And I was SUPER gassed lol, plus she was a MAN! LOL.

I've been missing training lately because I was sick two weeks ago, then got sick again on Sunday so I missed Monday's class. I should of skipped Wednesday night. Gotta love cold season and when you're rolling around with other sick people.

We did a bunch of knee on belly drills too. My insides felt like they were kneaded dough.

Cool. What ranks do you hold in each?

Favorite throw? You're going to have to use the English terminology, I don't know any of the Japanese names.

I train with one of the best 110lbs female judoka under the age of 17, on the entire planet. Placed 9th in the world in August last year. Shes an absolute beast, elite level athlete with SERIOUS judo skills.

She hasn't legitimately tapped me in a while but she used to mangle me this time last year. I know the feeling dude, sucks. Technique > Strength!

There is a guy at my club that is very dirty. Simply has poor hygiene. He got me sick on Monday this week lol, haven't been able to train because I refuse to get anyone else sick.

Next time I get my hands on his gi, he's going to sleep! lol.

The shittiest part is my cardio is atrocious now. I was gassed out before we did any live rolling. I ran myself super hard last week right after I got better and probably weakened my immune system.

Fortunately our guys are usually pretty clean (as far as I know). I only rolled with one guy who must have not washed his gi in weeks. Fucking stank so bad I was trying not to puke.

We have one stinky/dirty guy and he's been this way since he started. It's not the first time he's gotten me sick either.

I have no idea about how to approach my instructor and bring the issue up though, it's not like I don't want to roll with him. I just don't want to risk getting sick or contracting ringworm or something because his hygiene practices are poor.

I'm a 2-stripe white belt in bjj. I don't hold a rank in anything else other than white belt in judo I guess lol.
