1 = GP converted to a certain value would set a very nasty precedent, and could bankrupt one or more of the guilds doing the merger.

2 = Combining the GP of 2 or more guilds could potentially launch the newly formed guild into the top GP earning spot.
This would be extremely unpopular with those guilds that have worked hard over the past 6 years or so to get where they are.

Your suggestion may appeal to some, but realistically, it is not a feasible one.
There are more roadblocks to this move than just Guild Points.

After a good reflexion, I must say this is right.

Imho, if you want upgrades, get them yourself <_<

.. At full price.

I voted no.

"This would help the market of guilds because more people could buy them so it would not be a strain on the owners to letting there guild go at a negative price on many. "

Guilds are meant to be a privilege to those that are willing to pay for them. Having a high price means that the people that purchase them will probably take them more seriously. Having a base member limit that you can expand is to allow guilds to be selective in who they allow to join their guild. Furthermore, if guilds charge people to enter their guild, the member will likely be better behaved than if they had nothing to lose. <- Taken from : Guild FAQ

but guilds being worth more would also mean people would actuly buy more and more gold would go back in to circulation and more people would actuly want to start a guild knowing they retain value instead of wasting endless cash
