what you need to realize is that the clean (and the snatch) should not actually involve real bar-hip contact. what you're currently doing is a deadlift and then trying to bounce the bar off your hips when you get your hips extended. this not only decreases vertical bar velocity substantially but disrupts the ideal vertical path of the barbell and makes it take a curvilinear trajectory up to your shoulders rotating around the axis of your elbows.
watch this video at 2x speed and you will see that lu doesnt make the bar move outside of (approximately) a linear trajectory. at fully knee hip and ankle extension he is actually fully behind the path of the bar. he moves his body around and under a vertical bar path whereas your body stays in place and you try to bounce the bar around your elbows
