If you are unable to play d3 beta due to "unsupported graphics card error"
Follow the steps stated below:
Inside folder libraries/documents/diablo III there is a file "D3Prefs"
Change:
- DisableTrilinearFiltering "1" (from 0 to 1)
- HardwareClass "1" (from 0 to 1 as well)
These takes literally no more than 5 mins. And I'm willing to tell people step by step if they don't understand.
Start button
Search box > type d3prefs (d3prefs is a txt document, people have used these since 2nd grade.)
Once inside d3prefs.txt
Scroll and look for disabletrilinearfiltering which is set @ 0 normally and change it to 1
and then scroll and look for hardwareclass which is set @ 0 normally and change it to 1.
Or when in d3prefs.txt
cntrl f to "FIND" and type in disabletrilinearfiltering , if they are passing over it by scrolling.
These are always there, should be no problem for anyone.
Biggest problem is sometimes people forget to save document after editing.
After you do this.
Load d3 beta
when normal error message comes up about "Unsupported graphics card" Press esc button
then d3 loads
Don't purchase a new p/c just to try the beta.!!
This doesn't allow you to play in maximum settings, but atleast it allows you to play
Hope I saved you guys time and money.
