The Infestor
Caster-based Witch Doctor similar to the Starcraft II unit - self-titled infestor.

This build is intended to be gear dependent for things like +max mana, +mana regen, +life after kill, +life regen, etc.
The infestor is a powerful caster-build, yet vulnerable to attacks.

[DoT skills]
Haunt
Grasp of the Dead (GotD)
Poison Cloud Fetish Army

[Spam skills]
Fire bats
Poison Cloud (can be spammed)

The Passive skills selected carry the potential of up to 80% Damage reduction and -30% Attack damage from enemies [/b] - before damage reduction gear is taken into account!

[Passive]
Jungle Fortitude
Bad Medicine
Death Trance

Due to the lack of pets, this build relies on ensnaring enemies - GotD & Haunt.
Both are powerful DoT's with mid-long range.
Because GotD carries an 8-second cool down I've added the ensnaring runestone to Haunt to stack slow movement of GotD and make ensnaring spammable.
Up to 87% Slow movement!

Firebats(Hungry Bats, targeting attack) is the primary spam skill with Haunt as a secondary spam.

Poison Cloud acts as a passive spam skill with DoT that also engages the Passive skill Bad Medicine - reduced enemy attack damage by 30%.
Poison is runestoned to increase the duration of acid pools, causing bad medicine to activate twice([i]every 3 seconds) for maximum damage reduction length vs mana spent.[/i]

Fetish Army just for additional DoT damage & distractions.

Spirit Walk, the panic button with damage potential. Duration, 3-seconds. Enemies are attracted to your "spirit" body, which makes it great for crowd control and evasion.
When you enter spirit walk your movement speed is increased by ~20-15%.

I realize this is very detailed, but I will be happy to discuss specifics.

I like WD now in the beta, you get good abilities. You get the ghost walk thing and the firebombs. I think he would be very good at clearing the game without dying. Sit there with pets tanking and spam firebombs = ez game. Much more fun in the beta than used to be.

The WD was my favorite class going into the beta, during and remains after all the patches.
This build ought to be fun and I look forward to sharing with everyone video progress on the build.

On the Contrary, Patch 6 fixed all the resource systems of each class, WD included.
I do run into mana issues during intense mobs and boss fights.
