Friend wanted to purchase a 2k$ bose soundbar and I wanted to come up with something that would destroy this for his budget.
Found out he already has a decent receiver. So using that, I thought a svs 1000 paired with some monitor audio silver 6 would be a good match. I'll look into your links and I'll try to find a place to audition some stuff before buying cause he's skeptical

If he already has receiver 2k opens quite a lot of great speakers to choose from. For Subs I would look for HSU, Rythmik or SVS. For speakers it would be best to try audition as many speakers in budget he can and decide after that. On another note, I'm currently using 598se with monoprice dac/amp. I have a pair of 6xx coming my way next month, and there's some modi2/Vali2 combo I could buy for 350cad(used one week) . Worth the upgrade or I should wait and see how my current setup plays with the 6xx?

Sbz, it's great when it works. Their driver issue annoys me too much, and I rather just upgrade to a different product, than having to fix the issue few times a month.
