Simply put, an audio interface is a device that connects your computer to your microphone.

If you're looking for more control over what gets sent to your computer, tabletop mixers often come with USB or FireWire audio interfaces built right in. So what's a mixer got that a basic audio interface doesn't? Control.

Are you actually going to use the mixer? Or do you just need phantom power for a mic?


Just get a USB mic & call it good. I doubt you'll ever need anything more (Hell even that is overkill prob lol)

Pretty much just looking for power for a mic. I heard xlr is the way to go but I got nothing to plug one into lol

I need decent headphones with a 1/4" adapter or plug on them.

Open or closed I don't mind lol

$150ish budget, $200 max lol
