The file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II 2\d2char.mpq" could not be opened. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (InstallerFile::Open)

Getting this when I try to change keys.

You'll have to uninstall it completely and reinstall it again.

Did you run a search to make sure the game is completely out of your computer?

Your disk may be corrupted/ has scratches/ you accidentally made that file broken, use this guide.

It's the downloaded version, not from the discs.

Ah....Well then I am not sure...I'll do a little bit of research and get back to you later if I can.

I copied the d2char.mpq out of the original install folder, then manually entered the location that I wanted to change (hard drive/program files(x86)/diablo 2 - copy (2), or w/e you have)

Worked fine after that

Did you run the installer as administrator?

Did you completely uninstalled the previous diablo II before reinstalling it? (add/remove program)
