Sometime over the last couple of years there's been a dramatic shift in Jose's management mentality - he's become utterly terrified of losing, especially against the stronger teams, he'd rather play for a draw with an outside chance of grabbing a lucky goal, which doesn't even work anymore, than risk a likely defeat and attack.

cant understand that reasoning at all
i mean lets take 3 top games, you play for that draw and succeed twice, the other one will be a 0:1 defeat
or go for the win, lose twice and win one game, that will leave you with 1 more point compared to the other scenario

the only team that can settle with draws in the top clashes now is manchester city

you do realise you can play somewhat offensive football without being reckless? as if parking the bus is the only alternative for a team worth hundreds of millions

some people would say that playing as defensively is reckless since you always have that risk that some ball might go through

united needed some luck and de gea magic to get away with a 0:0 vs liverpool, great plan
against chelsea one ball goes through and you are like "oh shit maybe we should have gone for a goal ourselves"

they did and almost scored a few times, but chelseas defensive pressure was really strong much of the game.
it wasnt a matter of not getting anyone forward, it was a matter of not being able to control possession and build up more scoring opps.
the game was actually pretty open relative to the other top 6 away games MU have played

Not always the best trait to have I guess then... Although I'm sure David Luiz has had his fair share of needles already this year

Is this why he's been dropped to the stands and publicly criticized by Conte then?
