ive been thinking about this comment and perisic a good deal lately.

Mata is more of a CAM. Rashford is the 2nd striker and really the only other one on the team. Young is out for a good bit, and I was more impressed with his fullback play.
Perisic is of much higher quality than some of these guys and would allow the above players to stick more to those roles. The depth would also be hugely important if someone like micky or martial went down with an injury too. (or just for giving guys extra games off and not wearing them out like we saw at the end of last season)
I think he definitely would be added value, even if not absolutely necessary.

Perisic would be fine if Inter werent pricing him at such an absurd rate. Nearly double van Persie's transfer fee at the same age and when the title that prior year hinged solely on GD/derby results it was a no-brainer buy. Perisic at £25-30mm much more tolerable and I rate him fine, would like to see him whipping in crosses for Lukaku.
