MADRID, June 20 (Reuters) - Spanish prosecutors said on Tuesday they had filed a claim against Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012, when he managed Real Madrid.

Mourinho, who is Portuguese, owes the Spanish tax authorities 3.3 million euros ($3.7 million), a Madrid prosecutor said in a statement, adding it had presented a claim to a local court. ($1 = 0.8968 euros)

Is it a coincidence that all the players/managers that have recently started being investigated for tax fraud in Spain (Mourinho, Cristiano, Falcao, Di María, Coentrao, etc) all work with Jorge Mendes?

I don't know, but to me this seems very fishy. We all know how shady Mendes is, and I just find it really weird that all the players involved in this new wave of tax evading just happen to have football's most infamous slave trader as their agent. Did he start some illegal business with them? Did he throw in some illegal clauses and payments the players/managers didn't know about? etc. Well, I guess that's up to the justice system to find out... I hope they go all the way and punish whoever did something wrong, be it Mendes, his players/managers or both.

i cant find it anymore, but some time ago there was an article on reddit about one of mendes clients (some random in portugal) accusing him of talking him into a deal he did not want so mendes could collect another 500k as fee, that were to be sent to an account in panama
