and it seems to be able to separate the guests from the member from the admins for editing and view/post rights
Some guild leaders prefer to hand out special privileges to non-admins, like, if you are in 'family' guild with custom ranks, and you want your members to be able to edit their own ranks, you may want to give them the ability to 'Edit Member Ranks'.
Instead of just giving them a "Admin" page where they can change that like once or twice per month, they will have to stand the ugly layout each time they visit the guild index page (which is pretty often for me).
This applies to every guild admin, not just members with the ability to 'Edit Memebr Ranks'.
