Animated Rain

Introduction

Hey everybody this is epilol im going to make a tutorial about how to make realistic rain and animate it
this is a really easy to do and u just need Photoshop + Imageready
If u are using Photoshop CS2 u are able to do this without opening imageready. just go to window -> animation, to open the animation window in photoshop!

I Step

make a new document size 500 x 500 and fill it with black (to do this u can use ur paint bucklet tool with a black foreground or go to edit -> fill -> black 100% opacity)

II Step

add a new filter effect: go to filter -> noise -> add noise and use the following settings:



the click ok

III Step

add another filter effect: go to blur -> motion blur and use the following settings:



then click ok

IV Step

open the image in which u want to put the rain effect. i will use this sign i made:

V Step

now go back to ur old document (the 500x500 one) and holding ctrl + left mouse button bring it to the new document: this will create a new layer. U should have something like this:



VI Step

On ur upper layer go to image -> adjustments -> levels and move the black arrow a bit to the right so that u will dark the layer, then accept:

VII Step

Duplicate the upper layer once and move it holding ctrl + left mouse button (so that it will look different)

VIII Step

Repeat the VII step, set these 3 layers to screen and lower a bit the opacity if needed (i set their opacity to 80%)



Now that the most is done u are ready to animate the rain

IX Step

bring ur work to imageready holding shift + ctrl+ M (or just open the animation window if u are on photoshop CS2 or higher)
make the 2 upper layers invisible clicking on the eye in the layer window



X Step

duplicate the frame clicking on the duplicates selected frames button in ur animation window and make the bottom rain layer invisible and the second one visibile



XI Step

Repeat the X Step: duplicates selected frames button, but this time make the first layer visible and second invisible

if the pic is to dark btw, u can lower the opacity of the rain's layers

nice tut, but ya gotta watch out for the KB limit

nah no way u will go out of the kb limit with this^^
