Colby had horrible run support during the season too, and led the team in K's.
i hope we do get a starter, but Matt Garza might be the only option for now gotta see how the records turn out by mid-season

Garza is definitely an improvement. I would say the odds are against Lewis for 2011 but who knows. He pitched really well to end the year in the playoffs

yea, i'd take Garza def over Hunter/current Holland/fluke Feldman
i don't think Lewis will have a flop-year like Feldman did, but ya never know

Hunter's a guy with a decent ERA...Keeps his team in the game.

Holland is so sporatic I don't know which Derek Holland we will see this season.
When he's on, He's very good

Wasn't a big fan of CJ as a closer but as a starter he is very good, Pitched terrific in the playoffs.

Webb flat out when he's on, He's nearly unbeatable. We want to give him the full 10 million dollar contract we gave him (3Million sign, 6-7 Million in incentives)
Meaning if he does get the full contract he pitched very good for us.

Lewis terrific in the playoffs, love his calm approach on the mound.

if Rangers get a starter mid-season, who gets taken out of the rotation?

Feldman has a really good cutter, last year was likely fatigue (unrevealed injury) or pressure to perform after $$$. Feldman will have better numbers than Lewis in 2011; i'd put money on that.

It will all depend on how lewis/hunter/holland are performing...Still wondering if Martin Perez is ready

he does have a good cutter when he's able to keep it down in the zone, but he's a goofy, lanky, tall dude who has trouble doing it. i didn't buy into the hype when he won 17 games cuz of awesome run support (plus he had a mediocre ERA for 17 game winner). But if he does have a good year, that'd be awesome and i'll happily be saying i was way off

Perez is a beast! last i heard, he's still a year away T_T. they're prolly making sure he's ready b4 bringing him up, cuz bread-n-butter of their pitching crop
