my prediction is that somehow the guy he just fought world ranker #2 suffers a career ending condition after the last fight that isn't discovered of course until the end of the fight. Richardo then seeks revenge and offers Ippo a chance @ the world title. Any other outcome than this, then the manga just go extremely boring and waste of time to read. Every reader wants Ippo to move up towards the world champ. Last match was just boring and even worse as he loses.

We don't know he loses yet though, the raws of the next chapter aren't here yet.
