I've gotta get this off my chest. I haven't said it because I know many of you will hate to hear it and maybe even hate me for saying it.
It's unlikely Goff is upright for another 18+ games this season. I know he has an incredible O line--but even that O line probably won't show as much health as it had last season. I'm not desiring any ill fate towards Goff--I just think this is a matter of probability.
I'm curious what we have in Hooker--and I even think he will shine to the point we don't even want to put Goff back in. I don't necessarily think he's a "better qb"--I just think he gives a creative coordinator like Ben Johnson a lot more tools to play with. I think he's good enough to make the throws Goff is asked to do--and I think he opens up the run game WAY more than Goff does.
I know...I know.... Jared Goff, Jared Goff, Jared, Goff, Jared Goff.... I know we all want to root for the underdog(many of us have for decades)--he's the perfect story(another man's trash is another man's treasure sort of deal) "You're fucking good enough for Detroit Jared Goff" - DC
All this being said, I hope we find a way to land Spencer Rattler to back Hooker up this year
