hello

ever since i bought my new laptop i have been getting random freeze in games ( normally for like 1-10 seconds and then it runs smoothly after that for some secs and it happens again )
i only play diablo 2 atm, and it pretty much always happens when i duel.. but not when i do things like mf and baaling.

im using Windows 7 and running 64 bit

if anyone could help me get rid of this i would love to donate a few fgs ;)

go to pingtest.net and test your ping. Also test it in game while it happens with /fps

I'd say the lag could be do to your ISP. 12 hours ago you had 16 ms, now its 53 with 27 jitter. Its possible at times your ISP gets even higher than that, causing you to lag in game. Perhaps due to high traffic times. I'd suggest watching it and if it gets much higher to call them up.

But other than it possibly being the ISPs fault. What're the specs of the laptop? And is it well ventilated?

Your ISP is bad.. well it gives you lag.

Have you tired to play games in offline mod ? as SP ?
I bet if you try your games will run smoothly.

so there is pretty not much can be done
Unless you change your ISP to better.

Use pingtest.net not speedtest.
Also how often do you restart your modem and router?

You could try a factory reset on your modem and router, set them back up and see if that'll fix it, you could also look into TCPAckFrequency, call your ISP and ask about Fast Path, Check and make sure that all devices(except modem) have a filter on them when plugging into the phone line. Also if you have an alarm system on your home, you could ask for a splitter from your ISP.

Those are all things you can try, if you still have high latency. It's more than likely on their end. Unless it's only on one computer.

Said this in another post, I should save this somewhere I've been typing identical a lot >.> lol. But yeah, some of those are only for DSL, so if you have cable or fios, some of those aren't an option.

But from the looks of how much it's jumping around I'd say you may need a new ISP. Do you share your connection with anyone?
