I don't believe the fact this war happened can have a positive increase to world safety.

So you believe if left to regroup and reorganize in Afghanistan they will not attack us again out of the kindness of their hearts?

I believe if we didn't have a permanent presence in the Middle East, we wouldn't have been attacked at all. If we hadn't been bombing Arab countries for 50 years. If we didn't prop up dictators. If we didn't aid in setting up Israel. We've been fucking with the Middle East forever. I can see why they are pissed.

This is all assuming Al-Qaeda is actually responsible.

Familiar with the honeymoon period we're not.

after the failure that was Bush...any president that doesn't incite another pointless voluntary war is a success in my book

Meh, I think he could have gotten more useful stuff done.

Like immigration reform or something.

No, but does that make us safer than stirring up the entire region into a hornet's nest that can never be put to rest?

I think had we gone in like that from the start and continued that way we could have.

The Afghani resistance doesn't want to be shot. They are not exactly going to line up so that we can shoot them and they can shoot us. We have to find them first.

Before we were over there they were pretty damn strong and good at what they wanted to do apparently as they hit us. Now that we're over there they're weaker, running around, and aren't hitting us. We sound safer this way to me.
