right click the task bar in window and switch to classic view. also right click desktop arrange Icons by, and make sure show icons is unchecked. both of those things will save about 3500kb of system process.

holy shit. you need at least 10% free space of your hard drive at all times, other wise it runs to shit. learned that from some geek movie!

if you like to dl crap and upload pictures that makes it so laggy delete some of those and should be runing fine happenes to me every 2 years but cmon i have bewst advice

Start Menu - Run - Type msconfig
Click the start up tab
Click the 'disable all'
Restart PC

This is also true if you have Windows XP b/c its constantly making temp files in odd places that you have no idea its doing it and they get big before XP deletes them.
10% is a good rule of thumb but it can take more depending on what its doing.
