as sorc u will always need as much es as possible so u will need manas aswell

more es % can save you more time to press esc and then exit

when you have "nothing" in energy, you will have LOW mana + around 50 % es. You will have ~1k mana if i count it correctly.
there are situations, when u face vs souls, only 1-2 hits would take all your mana out.

If you have with bo 3k life and 1k mana, you will have 3.5k "life" total
but if u decrease ur life and increase ur mana, put some more into es. you can have this stat: 2klife /3k+ mana and ur life would be increased into 4.5k "life"

if u put some points into ES, u will get lower dmg, but for PVM, that is enough. And u still have conv from merc

and i would definitely remove ravens and magefist -> sojs/to gloves -> better is frost when es (but in your case with no energy = to glove)

edit: i suggest the following build

wizi
eni / coh
grif
frost bered
sojs
whistan bered
ww

max block/enough 24 dr/ high es mana
full res

with safe build i had with "Self" bo 1.5k life/3.5k mana 9x es without precast

bad example because souls drain your mana anyway. Vita is actualy better vs them
I wouldn't make a pure ES sorc on hardcore if i wanted to put safety first. It's somewhat safer in 90% of the situations and you have huge chances to die in the other 10%. A balanced build is better!

I want to commend the writer of this guide, it is a very well written and clear guide that is bursting with good information for someone who is new, or even intermediate to advanced with the principles of hardcore Diablo.

Although the final trails to completeness may take slightly different path, this puts someone willing to invest the research in the correct general direction to being a successful hardcore player.

1 to; CA, TS, ES, Warmth, well all that u need..

With this settup you wont need to use alot of str, get nice boost of dex for maxblock = much vita = much life.

Btw, 100% Life, using 1 point in es =
