Aion as always been a p2p MMO. Yet they decided to switch to f2p with huge disadvantages for new player. e.g you cannot use general chat, you cant open a shop and such. It literally forces you to pay for it and thats why I never considered to play it.

well, not being able to use the general chat aint that bad... only being able to harvest 5 resources per day is the biggest problem, along with the huge dungeon cooldowns (1day to 7 days!) and not being able to trade is the worse too...
its like any other free mmo if you ask me, those who pay have it all, those who don't will NEVER be able to catch up

Indeed. There's a list on the site with the restrictions, but basically all is named here.. No trade, no world chat, no whispering, no auction house, long dungeon cooltime. Kinda took away some of the basic elements of the game.

But hell, if it's fun to play with a couple of friends for a while... Why not, right?!
Though, I give MindControl points for being right. Those restrictions suck, and if it hadn't been for the other people I'm playing with... I wouldn't.
