Never seen tppk before? The guy used a hack to quickly make a tp, go in, hostile the former party, and go back in to try to surprise kill the party. Apparently, he killed his friend the sorc (who was hostiled along with the rest of the party) without thinking

No my friend, you are very wrong indeed. That is impossible, that is not how tppk works.
Tppk is when a character shoots at you (guided, fire bolt, tornado, ice blast, multi-shot, shock web, charged bolt, fissure) then uses a hack that makes a town portal, makes the character go in through the portal before they can actually click it (using proxies to remove portal delay) then hostile instantly once in town. The missiles that were shot are still firing and now hit other players, draining their life and perhaps killing them. A good ice blast sorceress does upwards of 9000 damage, and with cold mastery, can 1-hit most character, or perhaps 2-4 hit characters with high life and ravens. A good tornado druid does 7500 damage and can 1 hit any low level, and 1-3 hit most high levels. Plus, sometimes tornado hits twice, doing double damage. It's also un absorbable.
So yes, just be extra careful when doing public Baal runs and you should be fine. If a sorceress suddely starts shooting Ice Blast at you, move the fuck out of the way or die...
Oh and clan trigger tppk takes about 0.01 of a second (you hear the hostile sound before you hear the town portal sound, or even see the town portal). So once the missile is close enough for it to hit without any chance of you moving, the trigger is pressed and the missile hits you while the shooter is hostile. Therefore you die.
