I would like to have the ability to close my own threads.Why?Some times I make threads that get spammed, or I sell the item soon after I post it for sale, or I would like to make a new thread to post updated information about the subject of my thread, etc...Whatever the reason is, some times you would like to have your thread closed.
How would this benefit jsp?By itself there is no real benefit other than once the thread is closed most people will not look at it.
BUT! In trading forums for instance, when you do a text search it shows closed threads even though you cannot read or access them. If you eliminate these from the search, searches will be faster and more precise.
If everyone has the ability to close their own threads, it would speed up all searches and possibly allow for searches to check back 5 days instead of only 1.
As of right now when I do searches in trading forums I always find the same person who reposted the same ft list over 20 times....allow users to close threads and clean up the searches!
